![]() Every Constellation (Nakshatra) is further split into padas. The moon, which is accorded high priority in the Vedic Astrology, travels one segment (Nakshatra) per day. The sky, as we see it, is divided into 27 imaginary but equal segments known as the Nakshatras (constellation). In Indian Astrology, Nakshatra refers to Lunar Mansions. The two words when conjoined into one refer to a ‘region or point in the sky’. In Sanskrit, the word ‘Naks’ means ‘Sky’ and ‘Shetra’ means ‘Area’ or ‘Region’.
